I have seen this mentioned in one thread, but there was no follow through on the issue. When I use the program to capture video from my mini DV Panasonic camera, via firewire, the program recognizes the camera, queues up the video, then I get the message
"Failed to Create Album"
and get a dialog box to click for details, of which there are none if you happen to click it. And, at this point, the program stops responding, caught in some limbo from which it won't return. Although, I can choose the button for Stop Video Capture, which rewinds the tape in the camera, then never acknowledges that the Stop command was made. And when you try to close the program, it tells you to stop the video capture first. Arrgh!
Now, I am able to capture the video fine, in Nero Express and in Windows Movie Maker. And I can move the AVI file into Easy Media Creator 8 no problem for a project. So video capture, in general, doesn't seem to be the problem.
I have spent time with Roxann trying to get to the bottom of the issue, but the best suggestion "she" had was to use Movie Maker for the video capture. Which is fine, as far as it goes, but isn't this supposed to be a one-stop program? Anyway, has anyone else out there successfully dealt with the Failed to Create Album issue? Thanks.
And yes, I have updated the firewire interface as suggested elsewhere, and this had no effect whatsoever. And yes, I have disabled the Drag and Drop feature from starting up in msconfig, as was suggested elsewhere as well. Again, no dice.
As for the specs of my machine, it tells me that there is an Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz processor, 0.99 GB RAM, running Windows XP Home Edition SP2, and I have added no special cards into the machine for video, only whatever capability the machine came with. Although I am not smart enough to find out what's there. Sorry.
