Capture Button Grayed out

Sarijon

Question

Hi,

the capture button remains grayed out and thus i cannot capture.

i tried your link software update and the http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/easy-vhs-...re_updates.html download informs me that i do not have easy vhs to dvd on my computor, even though i do!

i have followed the advice in "Easy VHS to DVD capture button is grayed out" (Knowledgebase Article : 000230CR) and this didn't resolve the issue either.

please do not send me a response to uninstall and reistall again as i have tried this many times

i have visual and audio but just cannot capture - please help

:angry::blink:

If the SP2 throws that message it is usually because SP2 was included in your original install. Easy to check - Open the program and click on Help – About. If it is there, it will show up in your Version Number:

I do not understand your statement that you have Video and Audio??? Where are you seeing/hearing this?

Most likely your problem is the SCART adapter you are using...

Go to Options and make sure that the video format in the Standard drop-down is set correctly. If it is set incorrectly you can see the video in the previeq window but capturing is disabled.

Also be aware that this s/w can randomly change that setting to the wrong one if the signal is lost or degrades (mine is PAL_B but occasionally it changes to PAL_I or even NTSC).

Thanks Jim/Parish for the prompt replys.

The visual/audio i recieve from the VCR appears in the preview pane in the capture/plug in and play options. I don't think its the scart as i would recieve this signal if there is a problem. The Scart i'm using is a Belkin 3 RCA to scart video cable (Scart from the VCR to 3 RCA video/audio that plug into the Easy VHS to DVD USB). You are right the SP2 is already in the software.

I have tried amending to different signal options but alas this doesn't seem to make any difference to the capture option.

Frankly lads i'm at a loss as this is supposed to be an easy software package

any further input would be greatly recieved

Yes, I believe you are correct on that SCART setup being OK. (I'm in the USA, so I have never even seen one!)

You need to go through cdanteek's pinned post at the top and compare his pictures with your PC to make sure you have it properly installed.

You didn't mention any of your PC specs, but you can get a picture with the wrong drivers installed and it will never work! Hence the pic by pic comparison.

IF you have XP you can try capture in Widows Movie Maker… Only works in XP though, it was removed in Vista and of course the software is not certified to work in Win7.

Are you saying that Windows MM can capture from the Roxio USB device in XP? I will give that a try to see if it overcomes the problem I have with capture stopping due to gaps in the recording.

Thanks for the tip :)

It would seem that nothings going to make this work! i've followed the pinned posts step by step instructions and now i don't have any visual on the pre-veiw pane. the TV setting remains on Pal_I even if i try to change it next time i look its back at that setting - i give up! its time for Roxio to give me my money back, i've spent far too much time on an application that supposed to be simple!

My computors is Radeaon 9200, intel petium 1.10ghz, RAM 512mb, HDD 60gb with dual layer DVDRW capabilities

If those specs are correct then there is no way you are going to do any video work with that system.

What is a "HDD 60GB with dual layer DVDRW capabilities"?

We keep asking you questions that are critical to troubleshooting and you totally ignore them and go off in your own direction. That just doesn't make any sense to me???
