Toast 10 Issue with Spanned Discs

ILuvMyMac

Question

I just finished creating a 3 disc spanned AVCHD archive with the new 10.0.4 version - approx 130 frames, and iMovie freezes when importing it right before it actually starts the import. The little bar is displayed but nothing happens except for the appearance of the beach ball. I tried all three discs. Anyways, I was able to import a single disc archive with no issues with the same version software.

Any thoughts as to what I can do to make it work?

I'm not certain but there may be some AVCHD archive bugs with Toast 10.0.4. I suggest doing a test with an earlier version of Toast 10.

I was able to do this fine with 10.0.3, but it would not handle more than 99 scenes. I think 10.0.4 was supposed to address this issue. You may be right that it is buggy.

Ok, so I cannot import from spanned disks in Toast 10.0.4 or .5; but my new BluRay DVD player can see them and play them. Problem is, as the player plays the clips there is a pause and black screen between clips. Understandable as this is an archive and not a movie. So, why does iMovie not import these. It gets to the import screen, I can select my clips, but when I click on the import button it hangs.

Has Roxio even looked at this. I figured there should be a response from them by now.
