Software Won't Install

HotandDry

Question

I bought the same software yesterday at Sams Club, and had the same problem. Found out that I had a problem with my .NET Framework installation, and it is a known problem (See Microsoft Knowledge Base KB951847, and Article ID 923100). Uninstalled .NET Framework, ran the third party .NET Framework cleanup utility, and reinstalled .NET Framework. Then, 2010SE loaded on my computer.

Here's my challenge:

The screen says that it's ver.121B934. I used Software Manager, and it says that Important Update-Oct 2009 is available. The update downloads and says that it's Roxio Creator 2010 SE SP1.

The update installation runs until it generates an Error message; Can not delete target file; with one of the following error messages:

C:\prog files\roxio 2010\\videoui 12\plugnburnwizard.dll

C:\prog files\com files\roxio shared\12.0\sharedcom\apsviewpanes.dll

C:\prog files\roxio 2010\media import 12\vwavecapture.dll

Since I just did the installation, and haven't even used the software, what's going on with the missing .dll files?

Try rebooting making sure Roxio apps aren't running, task manager processes, then applying the SP1 update..

If that don't work try rebooting into safe mode and applying the SP1 update.

Run the Download option instead of Install. Shutdown all apps and run the .exe

I'm curious to see what your log files look like for the .net issue. Any way I can get them?
