jmhmcse
Yes, it is possible to successfully install (and use) Creator 2009 upon a Windows 2008 server. Prior to installation two Server Features must be installed: 1) .NET Framework 3.5.1 2) Desktop Experience These Features will in turn require additional Server Roles, but that's what it takes. While I dont recommend for a PRODUCTION server, for a test server it =should= work for you as it did for me. (of course 'your mileage may vary') Enjoy! Jim_Hardin
Sorry but NO Roxio product is certified to run on any Server… As others have found in Win7, it installs and works for a while, then starts throwing errors and quits working… I am sure you have not put all programs through all of their functions to even know… And who runs a Server like it was a desktop??? So, if another user comes on here and it doesn't work for them, will you supply a phone number or web site that they can contact for a solution to their problem. jmhmcse
So, if another user comes on here and it doesn't work for them, will you supply a phone number or web site that they can contact for a solution to their problem. kinda thought that was what the "discussion groups" were to provide.... Join the discussion! An excellent resource to find assistance or share ideas within the Roxio user community. Ideas could be outside the range of "officially supported". I work/play pushing the boundaries of technology; hardware and software. Server OS on non-server hardware, desktop software on server OS, etc. and thought I would offer my findings (and maybe support) of those findings in this user community. However, there appears to be much concern of providing any ideas which are outside-the-box. Perhaps a new thread, one which clearly states UNSUPPORTED, Use-at-own-risk, Your-milage-may-vary, DONT CALL SONIC/ROXIO, might be created and all of those who wish to push the envelope could do so without the constant digs, slams, and put-downs.
