Videowave 7 problems

rrpics

Question

I have Videowave 7 Professional and have over the last 15 months completed three complete projects without difficulties. Yesterday I went to use VW7 and neither the Adjust duration or Preview functions would display the videoclips.

I am using Windows XP SP2 and continually update it. I have tried uninstalling VW7 rebooting and reinstalling VW7 and the patch to .454 but the problem still exists.

Any suggestions? I did try adding QT7 in case some of the files there were needed. Are there any other external files that VW7 needs.

Thank you.

Malware or some other program or update has screwed things up. Run at least two or three anti-malware programs to try to get rid of it.

If all else fails do a system restore keep going back until it works or do a complete uninstall using Roxizap to get rid of everything and reinstall. Make sure none of your files are in Roxio folders (especially images in Photosuite.)

I have tried four malware programs - CWShredder, Ad-Aware, Spybot & Windows Defender. Nothing shows up.

I have uninstalled VW7, run roxizap (even though it says it is for CDCreator 4 (are there different versions?) reinstalled VW& from the CD, restarted the computer but the problem still exists.

System Restore is not a viable option since the problem may have occurred sometime over the last four or five months.

Any other suggestions? Does VW& become obsolete after about 18 months and incompatible with upgraded Windows XPSP2?

Many thanks for your help.

Since the problem may have occurred in the distant past, could you have added new software that you forgot about? :) Have you started to use drag 2 disc or other packet writing program? V7 iscompatiblee with SP2. Try doing a repair or update on your video card/chip. That could have become corrupted or just needs to be updated. That's a common problem in V8 since the program relies heavily on the video card but I don't remember the same issue with V7.

Many thanks. Problem solved. It appears that the Display adapter drivers had become corrupted. Reinstalling the video driver package has permitted VW7 to display the video in the Preview and Adjust Duration applications.
