Are their DVD's different than our in the States? I want to send my friends a copy of a dvd I made and not sure it will work. DVD formats Many DVD players manufactured since 2002 support all regions, check with your manufacturer for further information. Region 1 DVD - Supports players in USA & Canada Region 2 DVD- Supports players in Japan, Europe, South Africa, and the Middle East (including Egypt) VHS video formats Many VHS players manufactured since 2002 support both PAL and NTSC formats, check with your manufacturer for further information. NTSC The NTSC video format is used in the following countries: Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Cuba, El Salvador, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Surinam, Taiwan, Trinidad, USA, Venezuela. Maddie Most of them in Europe are compatible with both formats -- they are more progressive there than here were most are not. If they do not have one that is, you can render the project in PAL format. In MyDVD, go to project properties and select PAL. (I assume you have V8 since you posted here.) PAL to NTSC Format Conversion There are a number of DVD players available in the USA that have built in PAL to NTSC video converters which would overcome the above format problem.
