Capturing dvd video onto hardrive

kshc

Question

HELP! I am using Roxio Creator and My DVD 9.0 DE - I have a Canon camcorder which records video directly onto a mini dvd - once I "finalize" my disc I'm able to view it on the computer. What I want to do is transfer the video to my pc so that I can upload it and share the content with grandparents. I put the disc in and use the Roxio Video feature to find my video on the dvd disc drive - BUT it doesn't seem to find the content and won't let me import? What can I do to get the dvd content onto my hardrive? Any help would be appreciated! PS - could it possibly be because my mini dvds are DVD-R and NOT DVD-RW? Thanks!

You finalize that mini-DVD, put it in your computer's optical drive, and use My Computer, to copy the files, from that disc, to a folder you made, on your hard drive. You DON'T use Import to do it.
