rocketgirl
Hello everybody, I am running Roxio Creator Version: 9.1.573 SP1 And there is no Video tab. My only options are: Home, Audio, Copy, Data, and Tools. I tried re-installing from the CD, went to "Custom Setup," and realized that there is no Video option there, either. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this a faulty CD? Please help. Thank you so much for any info you can provide.
malatekid
Did the software come with a new computer, or included in a new purchased burner? What is the full name of the software?

grandpabruce
Roxio Creator DE. It came with a Dell computer. I am not sure what is included with your software, but I do know that it is a stripped down junk version. It would appear that it doesn't have video capabilities, but I thought that it did. Go through the Clean Install instructions, and see if that helps. If you have Vista, scroll down, in the attached link, and click on Vista: http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...6CR&PARAMS=
rocketgirl
Go through the Clean Install instructions, and see if that helps. Given that the "Roxio Creator 9.0 DE" CD does not have a video option when I run it and try to custom-install parts of the program, do you still think this will help? I believe that the CD itself is flawed. Is there a way to download a fresh version of the program, since I already bought it and have all the registration info? Your CD isn't flawed, if you were able to install the software. You didn't buy it. It came with your Dell computer. If the computer is up to snuff, you might think of purchasing the Creator 2010 version. EMC 9 has been out of production for over 2 years.
rocketgirl
I looked for MyDVD updates on the Roxio site, but all I can find is for Windows 7 (I run XP Pro), and for Creator 10. Do you know if there are software updates for Creator 9.0? Ah, I see. Since it's an old version, Roxio no longer supports it? Hmm. There has to be some way to get the Video tab working. Everywhere I've looked online, including the Dell forums, say it should be there.

rocketgirl
Dell is useless since my warranty expired last month. Too bad it took me the full year for me to need to make a DVD. If only I decided to make a DVD a month ago, I would have realized they software they gave me was faulty. Now there is no way to contact them that doesn't charge a lot; probably just so they can tell me they can't help. What I really need now is to find a full version of the program, or just the MyDVD part of it. Actually, maybe I am trying to fix something that isn't even what I need. Do you know if the full version of 9.0 even makes video DVDs that can be played by the kind of DVD players you hook up to a television? Would it be able to make a DVD menu, too? Yes, the full version does. I have used it many times, in the past. The program that they gave you IS NOT FAULTY. It is a stripped down, free, OEM version, that came with your computer. What do you expect for free?

lynn98109
You're welcome. You need a full version of the software, to get the full benefits. You might try amazon.com or similar. Just be sure it is the full Version, without any letters at the end like DE, SE, or XE. On eBay people sometimes get a newer Version and sell of the old one - just be sure you get the FULL Version or you can return for full refund including shipping. Lynn A small correction lynn---There is a C2010 version out that is an "SE" version that also comes with the USB capture device, that is the same version as C2010 Pro without the USb captrure device. I saw the version on sale at Costco for around $55 after a discount of $25. http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?...p;Nty=1&s=1 Frank... Good point that I was not aware of, Frank - but I was expecting the OP to be interested in EMC 9, rather than Creator 2010 (the equivalent of EMC 12). It's quite possible the computer in question doesn't have the needed power, RAM, and VIdeo Card for Creator 2010. And it would be better to buy Creator 2010 dirctly from Roxio because of the excellent return policy, in case it might be needed. Lynn
