Roxio 2009 crashes at start and Sp4 install crashes

mad4media

Question

Greetings,

I did a clean install of Roxio creator 2009 and upon startup it crashed. So I attempted to install the Sp4 and continuously experience cannot delete target file randomly? There were no evident problems on the intial install of Roxio Creator 2009 nor the unzipping of sp4. So now I am looking for suggestions!?!?

thanks

No clue where and when you "continuously experience cannot delete target file randomly";

my crystal ball has no idea either. In what context do you see this message?

Go to the Tools—Options and identify the folders specified are valid.

Check also that your TEMP and TMP folders can be accessed; enter "%TMP%" in the Windows Explorer address line to find out.

I suggest also complete uninstall, reboot, then a fresh install AND applying SP4 before you even think to run the application. Be aware that Vista and Windows7 may block access to folders that are not within the "%USERPROFILE%" directory! So access those (new) folders with Windows Explorer and allow Windows to set the Security access rights, first, before using the application.
