Toast gives 'unstable connection' error with internal burner!

ewillhelm

Question

So yeah, we're talking Toast 8.0.5 on a MacPro dualcore running Leopard 10.5.8 with 5 gigs of RAM. Whenever I try to burn a disc with the machine's internal CD drive (Pioneer DVR-111D) I get that error message. No other peripherals attached.

Anyone have any ideas here?

Tnanks,

E

P.S. - Just tried anoher burn, and got as far as writing the leadout when I now got a "Couldn't complete the last command because of a Mac OS Error. Result code = -32030" message. Investigating that one now.

It could be a problem with the drive. Have you tried choosing a slower burn speed? Choose one that is in bold face after the blank disc is inserted. Also try a different brand of blank media, such as Verbatim. Go to the FAQ at xlr8yourmac.com to learn how to update firmware for Pioneer drives on a Mac.

I actually just saw someone else's post about a similar problem, and the response they got from Roxio support about trashing this long list of prefs and trying again. I though I had done the pref trash thing already....but, just to be sure, I did it again, and so far, 6 burns later, all seems to be well. I hope it stays that way! And if not, I'll just trash 'em again!

Great. I'll try to remember this next time the issue comes up.
