Creator 2009 and Windows 7 64 bit

ILLY

Question

I have been reading these forums on windows 7 issues but i have Creator 2009 installed with windows 7 and it WORKS!.

There are some certain forum posters (you know who you are)who like to close lock threads so no one else can post with possible solutions.

Windows 7 has XP emulation so older programs may work,7 also has .NET 3.5 already installed which is not visible in the add remove programs list but you can turn the feature off.

This is how i installed creator 2009 ultimate on widows 7

Search for .NET FRAMEWORK CLEANUP TOOL and save it to hdd.

Turn off .NET 3.5 in add/remove feature list windows should ask to reboot when feature is turned off

Run the .NET CLEANUP tool (i would recommend CCLEANER be run also)

insert creator disc but DO NOT run instead view the contents find setup.exe right click and set compatability to XP or VISTA and set run as admin.

It may take a couple of attempts i.e XP or VISTA mode but it will eventually install(it did for me)when istall is complete it asks for reboot

When windows has booted back up install creator 2009 SP4

Right click on destop icon and change compatability mode i set mine to VISTA SP2 and checked run as admin box,Apply settings OK

Use desktop icon to launch

If at first you don't succeed TRY TRY TRY again as nothing is impossible

Hope this helps

I did have it working for a while but little by little it started to break. Some things still worked before I removed it such as Music Disk Creator and Cinemagic but the majority of things did not.

I hope yours continues to work for you. Since it's not supported, I don't think I would want anyone to spend their time on it and be disappointed.
