Creating New Chapters?

Flailer

Question

I just started using the MyDVD 10.1 that came pre-installed on my Lenovo laptop.

Trying to convert some of our old camcorder movies into DVD's for my family for Christmas.

I've got a bunch of AVI videos imported from my camcorder, I'm able to add them to a MyDVD project, but I can't find anywhere where I can break the long movie up into individual tracks or chapters!

I create a new Project. When that's done, I click "Add New Movie" and the movie shows up in the center Preview window.

The "Menus" tab is highlighted on the lower right. I don't see any place where the "Edit Chapters" selection that I've read about elsewhere is supposed to show up.

Where am I going wrong?!? Under a time crunch here, so any help would be appreciated... :)

You have an OEM version of the full retail EMC 10 product which means it has several features disabled or missing.

Can you add each avi file one at a time, that should create a Title on the menu page for each movie. If you right click on one of these Titles on the menu page you should get a popup menu where you can select "Edit Chapters" ... if it is available.

Blast, that option doesn't come up...

Stupid OEM. Okay, thanks - going to go look for another piece of software then...

I just finished making a movie out of old 8mm movie film, shot in the 1960s. This was made in Windows Movie Maker, and it was pretty easily made. Not sure if it will do what you want or not. I'm very new to this type of thing, and hoping to gain a little knowledge with Roxio and this site. Good luck.

If you get the latest version of Roxio Creator 2010 you can do what you want very easily plus a lot more.

Don't blame OEM, after all it was free
