Toast only uses the .264HD on file conversion, not encoding to an image file or DVD?
I am running Toast v10.0.4. I import AVCHD (.mts) from my HF100 (canon) and Toast works great. Toast is able to multiplex the files (without encoding) and create an image file to burn fairly quickly.
However when I convert raw .mts files to h.264 (mv4) files first, using the Elgato turbo.264HD encoder, and then import them to toast, the resulting time to create an image file is around 20 hours. Toast does not use the .264HD to re-encode the file. But Toast does re-encode everything.
So am I missing something? Why bother to even use the turbo encoder at all?
