I select the part I want to delete and go to "delete track" but it does not remove that portion i selected. I want it out of the recording. You can mark what you want in a track but you can't delete anything within the boundaries of a track. If the part you want deleted is at the beginning or end of a track then just adjust the start and end point to what you want included and leave the other part deselected. However, you cannot remove content that is in the middle of a track somewhere. That requires QuickTime Pro or an audio editing application such as Peak or Sound Studio.
