How to clip and split captured video clips

andy_c_34

Question

I have Creator 2010, and the dongle to enable capture of video from my olf Hi8 video camera tapes.

I have captured video succesfully (50 minutes long)

What I now want to do is cut out the rubbish parts, and break the 50 minute clip into several shorter video clips.

I am using Creator 2010. I have browsed to the video clip and clicked on "advanced edit", which fires up VideoWave. However I can't see the option to split or clip anywhere.

(I have tried the program's inbuilt help file, but it seems that this wasn't any help at all)

How do I split and clip video clips please?????

Regards,

Andrew

No "dongles"…

There is a Roxio Video Capture USB device which is an Analog to Digital video converter.

Make sure you switch to Timeline View then notice all those little icons above the clip. Hover on them and note the tooltips.

Tip – you will need to split at the beginning and end of the part you want to delete. Then be sure you click on the clip to activate it before deleting… Whatever is active is what gets deleted!

I agree that the Help file does not seem to be set up in the best How To manner…
