Cd drive / media question

Question

Merry Christmas everyone...newbie (neanderthal to boot) here. When I'm in SETUP mode, I click NO MENU and the DRIVE box reads: D:\TSSTcorpCDRW/DVDTSL462CDEO1 and...INCOMPATIBLE DISC. I have a DVD drive in my laptop & am using a common DVD+R disc, but can't get past this problem. Any ideas please?

You can read/write CDs but can only read DVDs with that combo you can't burn DVDs

Sorry, but I must be even more dense than I thought. I'm just trying to transfer video from a VHS tape player to a DVD+R disc in my laptop...isn't this the point of the product in it's simplest application? Please explain what I need to do to achieve this in the most basic way, because I am obviously missing something. Thanks.

You need a DVD burner in your laptop  How else do you expect to burn the video toa DVD. All you have is a burner that can read/write CDs but can only read DVDs.
