Roxio 2010 Installation Interruption

I've spent the better part of today working to install Roxio 2010 on my father's Windows Vista SP 2 Computer.

Under normal startup conditions, it gets to the point when it is installing the "SmartSound" component before it stops and I get the message that the Installation was Interrupted.

I uninstall it, use Windows Install Cleanup, delete the registry keys, and delete the folders and files (clean install instructions) and continue to get the same errors.

I tried safe mode, got further, but now I get a new bad install - an Error Code 0641 - not sure what that means, but nothing good...

Can anyone help me?

Create a new user account with admin authority. Logon to that account and try the install process.

You can also try this:

Go to C: drive -> Windows folder -> System32 folder. Look for a file called dsetup.dll in the System32 folder. Rename the file to "dsetupOLD.dll" or delete the file. Now try the installation.
