My Own Rant

den_roxio

Question

Havn,t got a clue!

Give us some details.

It appears to be extraordinarily difficult to install this product. Before buying Easy VHS to DVD at Best Buy, I read the user reviews

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Easy+VHS+to+DV...customerreviews

I found the not-too-inspiring rating of 2 out of 5 stars and many, many complaints about installation problems. Several folks mentioned spending hours on the install. Some eventually succeeded while others gave up and were planning to return the product. One review mentioned that the product is good if you feel lucky and actually get it to install. I guess I felt lucky ... I bought it and here I am.

It took me a couple of hours to get it installed. After the first failed attempt, I created a trouble-ticket for the support folks. It does appear that Roxio is more than willing to deal with unsatisfied customers who can't get their product to install properly. The responses in this forum also appear to be very well practiced. In one posting here the expectation is set that the install will take at least 11 minutes on a new, fast machine in the sunny-day scenario. That's pretty uninspiring.

Does Roxio have any plan to actually improve the speed and especially the reliability of the install for this product?

Please curb your desire to hijack non-related threads, with your rants.

Thank you.

The well practiced posts here, come from experience. We are users of the software, who have helped folks for the past number of years. We do like to help most folks, but every once in awhile, we get some smug assed individual, who thinks they know all about their computer and how fast software should install, and in reality, they don't, so they blame the problem on whatever software they are trying to install. You fit the bill.

Most, but not all installation problems, are due to a poorly maintained computer, or just plain user error.

Rants are over, and there is nothing that could be added to this thread, that would be worthwhile.
