Media Import Hangs

HD_DAVE

Question

Hi

I have installed Roxio 2010\MYDVD Video Lab. I purchased it about a week ago. I launch Media Import and point to my Hitachi DZ-MV550A, the movies that I have on there all show up. However, when I go to import the movies, I only get the first chapter on the ones that are successful. I tried to highlight all the chapters for the movies but I still only get the first one. I have one movie that is 15 min in length and has five chapters. It hangs the application at 21% every time. I have tried to take the mini-dvd out of the camcorder and put it in the DVD drive on the computer and it does the same thing.

The file format on my DVD-CAM is VRO.

The computer is a P4 2.0 GHz with 3 GB RAM.

I have tried this every way I can think of with no success

Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks Dave

I have never heard of that software. Is Roxio 2010\MyDVD Video Lab the actual name of the software?

At any rate, you don't capture minDVDs. You put them in your computer DVD drive and COPY the files to your hard drive, just like you would copy files from one place on your hard drive, to another.

Then, depending on what you want to do, you use the appropriate program, in your Roxio 2010, and bring those files in, from your hard drive.

Thanks for the responce...

The program I am using is Roxio Media Import, it's a part of Roxio 2010.

I want to convert VRO files to MPEG.

When I try, it hangs every time on the second chapter of the movie.

Very frustrating, I can't get any part of 2010 to do anything with VOB files.

Actually, sometimes it will work if you just change the file extension, from .vro to .mpg. If it doesn't work, change it back to .vro, and find a program that will convert it to .vob files.

Also, change your video camera setting, to whatever the other setting is. You don't want .vro.
