rip audio from .avi video file

Sorry if this is a newbie question. I cannot find any material or features for how to do this.

 

I have several video .avi files and wish to extract the audio portion into a mpeg3 or wav file. I opened the .avi file in Edit Video-Advanced and did not see an option to export only the audio portion. And Digitize LPs and Tapes and Capture Audio from Sound Card did not show anything that looked like it would work.

Open videowave, add your avi file, right click your file in storyline, click extract audio...
