Slow Encoding Process on version 2010

Burnedout

Question

I upgraded from Roxio 9 to 10 and the encoding and burning to CD process that used to take about an hour for a 1.50 hour movie now takes 3 to 4 hours. What changed in version 10 to slow down the encoding and what can be done to speed it back up. The quality is the same at either 1 hour or the 3 to 4 hour encoding process.

I used to use Pinnacle and switched to Roxio because Pinnacle was so slow.

Check for an update to your graphics drivers. Encoding makes heavy use of both CPU and graphics - if it's an nVidia card, I beieve there is a problem with the latest drivers and some people have had to roll back to an older versoon (perhaps one of the other people who use nVidia cards can comment on that - I use an ATI)

Which version of the software do you really have? Easy Media Creator 10 or Creator 2010?

I am using an NVidia and just recently upgraded to Windows 7. There could be something to what you are suggesting. I'll investigate. Thank you.
