Runtime errors Photo Editing

Question

After purchasing Creator 2009 and running it on Vista 32 bit (Not compatible with Windows 7) and utilizing almost all of the applications within the suite, I have made a determination that the new Creator 2010 must have been rushed to market without thorough testing. I was receiving these errors and after the purchase and setup of a GE Force 9600 GSO 1 GB graphics card, I finally uninstalled and re-installed for the last time. Again I followed the KB article and re-installed as Administrator with virus protection off. Still getting the same errors.

I had enjoyed some of the photo editing of Creator 2009, but almost everything I try to do with 2010 causes a runtime error. Nobody should have to go through the problems 2010 causes. Nobody should have to reinstall the OS when all other apps run without errors. My Windows 7 is an upgrade and I refuse to do a clean install just for this one app. I should expect SP2 to be released soon to resolve these issues. I and others should not have to PAY for telephone support on a product costing almost $100.00 and is broken.

As a note, I purchased and installed Pinnacle Studio Ultimate product without any problems and didn't even have to turn off virus protection. Video editing is superb. NO runtime issues! I still want CREATOR back for other things it can do!

Anyone know the secret to making this work?

Been some problems with recent NVIDIA driver release. Roll it back to the prior one.

Then from Add/Remove Programs, take the 2010 Repair option.

Try it then.

Your "determination" is completely wrong! Win7 came out after 2010 was on the market and there was a whole forum here devoted to Win7 Beta…

Likewise there were may months of 2010 Beta testing before it was ever released.

I'll take you to task on 'not having to stop antivirus' - even Microsoft apps state you HAVE to turn off any running applications. In fact I can't think of any one installation that doesn't advise that.

You MAY get away with it now and again - but the notice isn't there just for the fun of it

The program is just too "buggy". I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments re:

I've given up on using Roxio Creator 2010 for now. I tried resolving my issues for two long months last September and October. Now I just watch the forum issues roll in daily looking for possible answers and fixes. Very discouraging there isn't better support for what could be a wonderful product. I'm starting to check reviews of Pinnacle, Adobe, Corel, MyDVD etc to see how "buggy" their similar products are. Any thoughts?

In case you don't know, myDVD is part of the Creator 2010 package and has been part of Roxio since EMC 8

You had XP before – you cannot "upgrade" to Win7, it had to be a clean install…

The "Clean Install" we are talking about is for 2010 not the OS! We recommend it when all else fails or anytime the symptoms indicate it would be the best solution.

You were having trouble finding "Repair" in November on your XP system. It is clear you have been having trouble and thought Win7 would fix it, yet have not been back to ask a single question in 1 1/2 months!

But if you want to put your attitude aside, and work on this, start a New Topic and we will be more than happy to try to help get you up and running!
