Converting .mts to .mov on a Mac Power PC G5

PwrPcG5

Question

I currently have Final Cut Pro 5 that will not support .mts formats. I have a Mac Power PC G5 that I'd like to use Toast 10 to convert the .mts files to a .mov file. It says that this version of toast will do it, but what it says and what it does is usually completely different. Does anyone have any experience converting .mts files on a Power PC using Toast 10?

I don't have the program yet. I just need to know if it works. I've read mixed reviews online about it and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and how good the quality of the conversion is.

It should work. What are the specs of the .mts video (which codec and the resolution)? My DVR captures are .m2t so I don't have anything that creates an .mts video to test.

If you buy Toast from Roxio on line they have a 30-day period in which you can request a refund.
