Max File Size for DVD-R ?

Is there a maximum file size for burning a movie to a DVD-R?

 

I have had two projects recently that were very close to using all of the DVD-R space and Roxio would crash as soon as I tried to burn it. It would preview just fine, but not burn until I reduced the file size. I had about 300 meg left over on the dvd. I am going to reduce the file size, but since this is the second time this has happened, I thought maybe there is a max not to exceed file size?

Forget all about size for movie DVD and consider time duration.

 

For good quality, one hour per DVD is the normal figure
