slow burn speed

Skook

Question

I've gone through the posts in this forum but didn't find anything directly relating to my particular problem, which is, I can't seem to get decent burn speeds when doing data discs. Even trying to change the burn speed under 'Options' doesn't have any effect. My speeds are typically < 2x!

I've used imation DVD+R discs and Fuji Film DVD-R discs with same results. Verbatim discs could not be written at all.

My drive is an LG GSA-H55N (manufactured NO 2007).

OS is XP Pro /w SP 3.

Any lights on the subject would be appreciated.
