I have Windows 7 (and I purchased the Windows 7 compatible version of Easy VHS to DVD), I followed the installation procedure in the manual, and the Roxio USB device is recognized by my computer. When I try to capture VHS footage using the Capture option in Easy VHS to DVD, I can click "Capture Now" and the program takes a few seconds to begin capturing. However, once I click "Stop Capture", the file appears on the right side of the window and the program says an "unknown capture error" has occured. The file on the right side of the window is blank no matter what format I use to capture the footage. The program also says the audio is coming from the USB 2861 device, but there is no audio with the footage when I play it from the camera in the Capture window. I have looked through the Knowledge Base at the Common Capture Issues and tried to install the RoxioC2009USBCapture Driver from the website. When the status of the driver installation window appeared, it froze. When I tried to cancel the installation, the computer told me that the driver is not compatible with my computer. What else could be the problem?
