Well that leaves the Prep Steps and Clean install that I listed in a prior post.

It is detailed, so I recommend you print out all of the instructions and use that as a checklist.

I also have this problem. It sucks!

I am also having a problem with converting avi files to dvd.

After just a second or so the program freezes..

Realy not happy with this buy!

Is the only fix is a uninstall and the try again?

Thanks for any help!

To clarify, are you getting the skin error also?

J, do you have the same computer? If not, perhaps you have a different problem. Add the AVI file to VideoWave (Edit Video-Advanced) go to the top menu and select tools, options and put a dot near software. Output that AVI file to mpg2 for DVD, best quality. The icon is above the preview window and look like an old time film reel.

Let it encode. It will take some time depending on the speed of your computer and the length of the video file. If it doesn't encode, then there is something wrong with the video file. Download and run gspot codec information appliance and it will tell you hat kind of file and if you have the right codecs to play/encode it.

Are you running any special themes on your computer? There was/is a program called WindowBlinds that gave some people problems with the "skin".

Where did you get the AVI file? IS it a DivX or XVid file (highly compressed).

I have the same problem: "ERROR: Unable to load skin" for Roxio Creator Pro 2010

I've been following all the advice I can find in these forums:

1.) Virus/Malware Scans

2.) Disk clean up

3.) Clean install

4.) Language settings haven't changed from English (United States) and no other language is installed

What do I do now? The whole program works except for "Create DVD". Once I click that, I get that error message....I hit "ok", and then I receive a pop-up "VideoWave 12 has stopped working."

What to do???

Model: Toshiba Satellit P305D-S8900

O/S: Windows Vista 64-bit (SP 2), AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70 (2.00 GHz)

Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB

Graphic Card: ATI Radeon 3100

Will any of these tips also work for Windows 7?

I purchased Creator 2010 Pro this weekend because I was having the same problems with 2009 Basic. After attempting to reinstall it, things were worse, and then I discovered that the program was allegedly not compatible with Windows 7--despite it actually having worked for several months after the upgrade to Windows 7.

Now, unfortunately, I am having the exact same "unable to find skin" issues with 2010 Pro, and I am not happy about it. I used Roxio a long time ago (back when they were Adaptec), and they were good, but I ended up switching to Nero because it had some features that Easy CD Creator didn't have. It's a good thing I bought Nero too; this is absolutely unacceptable. I may have to buy a million and one add-ons, but at least I can be reasonably assured the program will run 9 out of 10 times.

Never mind. I found the solution. Ironically, I got it from trying to fire up Nero. Apparently both programs downgraded my MSXML, so I ended up having to download SP3 again. Now, all three programs (Creator 2009, 2010 and Nero) work without issues--that is, they at least boot up. I haven't put them through their paces yet, though...
