error on movie file

Kimmer

Question

I created the entire movie and I was able to burn it to dvd once, however I needed to do a bit more editing to complete it. After editing it I tried to burn the movie again. I am now receiving an error on one movie portion. I am unable to 'Preview' the movie. If I right click on the movie from the Chapter Menu and select 'edit movie' it will open for editing, however, I get the error message './DSMenuEditCtrl.app(1186): ***Error Null = pComp.p'. If I click on 'Details' it says 'Could not create the renderer object. This might be caused by DirectX 9.0 not being installed or...'. I downloaded DirectX 9.0 successfully but I am still getting these errors and am unable to burn the video. Any assistance would be appreciated.. Another message I have received is 'display adapter not fully supporting DirectX 9.0'. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The specs of your PC would be interesting to look at…

Also, click on Start – Run and type in dxdiag

Should be 9.0c or higher and check each tab for errors:

When you have MyDVD loaded with your Project, click on Tools – Validate Project to see if any problems show up.

After checking dxdiag as Jim suggests above.

I would look at the video card and video drivers ...

Update your Video drivers ATI (www.ati.com) and Nvidia (www.nvidia.com). If you have already downloaded and installed the latest driver revision available and still see the error message (display adapter not fully supporting DirectX 9.0'), older cards often simply do not have the power to use DirectX 9. If you have an outdated video card, you may need to buy a new one.

Ichecked the driver info as you suggested. My system showed DirectX 9.0. And no errors displayed. I performed a driver upgrade to 10.0 anyway. I also updated my NVidia driver. Now I get a different error message, but it still does not work. ":\DSPrevCtrl.app(1191):***Error 80070057 = m_spGraphManager->Preview()". I also did the 'validate project' and it was fine. I find it odd that all of the movies in the project are fine except this one.

I have screen prints of the error message and the first 2 screens of dxdiag but Ican't figure out to get it on here...

Thanks for your help!
