weird burning

Ok when i burn the disk, it plays fine. However it doesn't use as much space on the disk, as it shows it will use on the burn program. It uses just over half the disk when roxio says it will use like 4.6 gigs after its encoded and burned.(should show burn on the whole disk) any ideas?

How long, in time, is the video, on the disc? A standard DVD will fill it up with 1 hour of video at high quality.

usually sp quality time range, and lately except for the last couple movies its been working on fit to disk somewhere between sp and hq.

"Sp quality time range" does not tell how long the video is.

Fit to disc is totally inaccurate and I recommend to never use it. Use HQ for all your burns. If video is longer then 60 minutes burn to iso image file and then use copy disc image to burn to DVD.
