Capture OK, but burned DVD has distorted "lines" on pan

Question

Hello, all. Just started using Roxio Creator 2010. Using the Roxio video capture USB, I captured video from my old 8mm camera, creating an AVI file. The AVI plays/looks good on-screen. However, when I burned a DVD for set top box playback, the video shows two distinct "wavy" or distorted horizontal lines, one about a third of the way down from the top of the frame, the other a third of the way up from the bottom. The lines appear only when the camera pans and are more noticeable the faster the camera pans. As I said, the distortion does't appear in the AVI. Is there some setting for creating a DVD I should use to avoid this? Thanks.

System specs, especially video card?

What quality setting did you use when creating the DVD? HQ quality is best.

You could also try switching the render mode from what you used - under Tool/Option in myDVD

Sys specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom X4 9100e 64-bit Quad-Core (1.80GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Memory: 4 gig, 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM

Video: Integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 Hybrid Graphics with up to 256MB of Shared Video Memory

I'm away from the computer now and can't recall the quality setting, but I don't think I used HQ.

What are my choices for render mode and what's the best/most reliable? Thanks.
