Using Back on Track Restore in Windows 7

I backed up my hard drive under Windows XP, did a custom install of Windows 7, loaded my programs and began to restore. After several DVDs restored the system hangs up, after 15 or 20 minutes a message appears saying there is a problem reading a file.

It depends what OS you did the backup on - BOT won't really restore XP settings for apps on a W7 installatin (everything is different)

 

It's probably registry settings and W7 is blocking changes

Did you verify your backups after making them?

If this hang occurs while restoring from a DVD your system may be having trouble reading that disc.
