Can't install SP4 on EMC 9.0DE

My op system is win xp, duel core intel , 2 gig of mem.

I have installed Easy Media Creator 9.0 DE, when I try to install Service 4, it comes up with not able to find the software. I have tried the uninstallation, but still the same outcome could not find the software, also tried closing down any programs ie antivirus, spyware etc but to no avail. Any ideas?.

It is probably not working because there is no service pack 4 for Easy Media Creator 9.0

 

The Service Pack 4 is for Creator 2009, which is totally different from Easy Media Creator 9.

 

Creator 2009 would have been EMC 11, except they changed its name.

 

So don't worry, be happy. You're not missing anything.

Just need to also ask would that mean that when I installed the EM Creator 9.0 de, I got a message telling me that this was not compatible with my OP system, which is XP Home.

I'm not aware of that one, Nibble.

 

EMC 9 DE is a sub-set of EMC 9, and that is quite compatible with XP. Can you recall what the error message was, and did it mention any particular part of the suite?

Just to add a bit, Brendon, if you don't mind.

 

You have a castrated OEM version of the software as specified by Dell. ANy updates and/or service packs would come directly from Dell. Have you checked on the Dell site?
