can't import .mov file

Recommended Posts

I am trying to import a short .mov file into dvd builder but I get a notice saying roxio doesn't support this file type. In the help section it says that roxio does support .mov files. what do I need to do? Thanks

I do not recall the exact version, but .mov was not supported in early versions. You should be up to 6.2.something (Platinum) or 6.1.1.48 (Basic) to assure support.

Then you must have QuickTime installed on your PC for the necessary codecs to be installed.

I have Roxioeasy Cd & DVD Creator 6, Platinum Edition. I have installed the updates. When I click on 'help" I find this. There are many more file types in the list. I deleted them to shorten this post.

It says I should be able to import mov files but I can't.

Thanks for your help

The roxio box says version 6...If I cklick on 'about dvd builder' it says Roxio DVD Builder 1.0.0.261

Quick Time 7.0.4

The number reported by Builder is slightly different than the version number for Classic. In any case you are behind times.

I suggest using the Home program from your menu and allowing it to bring you up to the current version. Home will pick the right one as it knows what you have.

QT should be OK with what you have.
