Its more about in what format the files are being saved and what format does Arcsoft is able to deliver as vs if Roxio is compatible with Arcsoft. As long as you have the file format in any of the formats that are standard and supported in Roxio, you should be fine. It is also likely you may be missing the audio codec that is used by the file format.

I got a Xi8 for my son and had the same issue. If I remember correctly, the format is mov but the audio is something that is either mono or not supported.

I would not recommend the following unless you plan on doing a lot of video work/editing and have the that will handle the program. Creator 2010 PRO has the Bias Sound Soap program as an add-on. You can take the video from the camcorder, add it to Sound Soap and extract the audio to a wav file. You can then add the video in Creator 2010's Edit Video-Advanced, add in the wav file and then output the project to either a DVD or to a HD file format . You can then bring that back into Edit Video -Advanced and do all your editing before burning it to a disc (with other files) if that is what you want.

I believe that Easy Media Creator 10 Pro also had the Sound Soap program but I'm not positive. You may want to find that out and then buy the 2 years old version at a reduced price.

If I remember that camcorder does HD. You might also want to consider burning to and AVCHD disc if you have a blu=ray player that will play AVCHD disc. About 40 minutes of video on an AVCHD disc. It is Blu=ray quality burned on a standard DVD with a standard burner. The AVCHD disc can be played on your computer or on that b;u-ray player that will take the discs.

Please post your computer specs; perhaps it is not up to the video editing that you want to do.
