VHS to DVD graphics card

vanda

Question

want to buy EasyDVD Roxio to transfer VHS video

tapes to my PC. I understand the PC has to have DirectX 9 compatible

graphics card - I have an Acer PC Aspire M1641 bought this year. Where

do I search to find out if i have the right graphics card.

I found the word NVIDIA - in display settings but it wasnt clear whether

i had graphics card that will work with the software or not.

If you can tell me exactly what my PC should

have in graphic card would help - cant find it in dev. manag.

Look under Display Adaptor in Device Manager. and list what it says

Googling around, this is what it says:

Chipset Manufacturer nVIDIA

Chipset Model GeForce 7050

Processor Type Pentium Dual-core

Processor Model E2180

Product Series M

Here is the page for driver updates.

Note that the chip is DirectX 9c compatable. It is a chip and not a card but that is OK.

The processor may be a little slow so if you buy the product, make sure that nothing else is running wwhen you are doing the video captrue and processing.

Do you plan to do anythng other than what you said? How about music? How about doing a better job of editing what you capture? If so and if you are in the somewhere where the stores are available and know someone who is a member, consider the Sam's Club/Cosco version of Creator 2010 with the USB capture device. More $$ but much more capability.

Isn't that what I said.

No need to yell ! :angry2:

Sorry i picked the wrong font when replying. Will I get an answer to my question or shall i give up? You cant reach Roxio by email and im seriously considering whether in fact its worth buying this product if i cant get any support.

You should be aware that while a 'Chip' may qualify on paper, they can prove less than stellar in the real world…

My Dell 530 had a chip and it seemed to work until I tried to put together a large slide show.

Then I hit the 'Black Slides' problem. The only thing that fixed it was installing a real Video Card!!! Otherwise it worked fine with 2010...

You can only do a try and see.
