There is nothing nasty built into Roxio Creator 2010. Most likely the problem is with Kaspersky finding a false positive. There have been several reports like this from people using that anti-virus software.

Where did you get your copy of Creator 2010?

Kaspersky will look suspiciously at any software which writes direct to the registry like the Roxio installer, or does any of a number of useful things - especially if you have it set to its highest [paranoid] heuristic analysis levels. Despite that, I still think it's one of the best Anti-Virus suites.

My installer file sets KAV's alarm bells ringing, but there's no malware in it.

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but need your help please. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 onboard and I just updated my Adobe Reader to 11, no problem.

However I wanted to view some old family photos on my CD's with Adobe Reader 11 and before I could I received a error message that I needed to update my Nero program, I have Nero Start Smart Multimedia Suite 10, so I updated it.

Then I receive a warning from Kaspersky just like everyone above has posted. Is this a virus or what is going on.

Please advise.

Thanks

Do you have it set to its highest [paranoid] heuristic analysis levels?

Probably a false alarm like Brendon explained in post #3.

Hello cdanteek & Brendon

When I setup Kaspersky Internet Security 2012, I left all the defaults alone, so it is probably set to its highest heuristic analysis level. So should I just leave it where it is set?

So if this is a false alarm, is it okay to remove the file from the Quarantined File?

I did send this to Kaspersky, just to make sure everything is okay.

I do have the green light on Kaspersky, computer is protected.

I make sure we update the computers on a daily basis.

Kaspersky has been great.

Thank you.
