Adding files to CD-RW that already has data on it

MKraus

Question

I am using Roxio Creator 2010 on Windows 7 computer. How do I add files to a CD-RW that is already formatted and has existing data on it? I have been adding data to this disk for a while using Easy Creator 8 and XP computer and drag to disk without difficulty. Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 and Creator 2010. When I use "Burn Data Disk" or "Creator Classic" and drag new file to it and try and burn, I get the following message:

"The disk you have inserted is not blank. Would you like to erase it now?

WARNING All data will be permanently erased."

When I select "no" I get the following:

"Please insert a blank or rewritable disk in the drive."

Is there a drag to disk tool in this version of Roxio or is there another way to do this?

Thanks,

Matthew Kraus

Drag to Disc has been dropped for several versions now because it is duplicated in Windows 7 and Vista (I believe) and because of its inherent instability and problems.

A much better way to add data to CD is to use Sessions writing with Creator Classic.

No drag to disc.

If you have important files on the disc and need to get them back, use ISObuster. You can see if it can recover the files (free) but will have to buy the program to actually do any recovery.

Creator 2010 has a Burn feature that is session writing so you can add data to a disc that already has data on it and you will be able to read the disc on any computer.
