I hope that I am posting on the correct forum for the product that I have: Roxio Easy Media Creator 9. I know that this is not the newest version, but this is the 3rd version of EMC I've bought in the last few years and they aren't cheap. I've been told that my computer will not be powerful enough for the newest (Creator 2010), so I'm looking for any help I can get to keep my current program working.
Problems:
When using Photosmart- Save As: Error message appears and then program closes itself. Error message: "Runtime Error! Program:C:\Program Files\Roxio\Photosuite 9\Photosuite 9.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"
When using Videowave- Add photo/video: Two different error messages appear and then the program closes itself. Error message 1: "Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Video UI 9\Videowave 9.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information" Error message 2: "Runtime Error! C:\Program Files\Roxio\Video UI 9\Videowave 9.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call"
So far I have tried:
- making sure all Roxio programs are clicked in msconfig services (and startup)
- using RegCure to address registry problems
- running defrag and disk error-checking
- reverting to Internet Explorer 7 (since Roxio errors appeared around when updated to IE8)
- reverting to Windows Media Player 10 (from 11); after I first tried un-clicking the DirectX accelerator in WMP11
- doing multiple clean installs of Easy Media Creator 9 following the directions of the Roxio site (after removing my prior version of EMC 7.5) using Windows Installer Cleanup utility etc. and making sure my firewall and virus protection were turned off during re-install
After a clean install, Roxio functions fine for about an hour or so and then the Runtime errors re-appear. Roxio tech support has yet to even respond to my requests for info.
My system info:
Gateway 310 XL R3 (2900494)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1.2600, Build 2600; 2002 version) 32 bit
Service Pack 3
Intel ® Pentium ® 4 CPU, 2.80 GHz, 1.00 GB of Ram
ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series Graphics Processor (0x94CC), Internal DAC (400MHz), 256.0MB Total Memory
