My DVD - No Highlight or Menu Selection

When I use MY DVD with two movie clips (3.5G each) and try to use a Menu style, I end up with a DVD that I am unable to select a Menu Title or movie. In most cases, there is no highlight or pointer or only the first two or three characters of the menu title are highlighted. I have tried 5 or 6 different menu (Clouds, Droplet, Fireworks, Global & Projector) styles, with and without motion with the same result. I have also tried the following:

1) Software and Hardware rendering

2) Used two different PCs, one desktop with XP operating system and one lap top with Vista Home.

3) Updated the PX Engine to "PX Engine 4.18.16a"

4) Verified DMA settings

Using MY DVD I also tried encoding a single movie clip with the Projector Menu style and setting up 8 chapters and had a similiar problem.

I have been a Roxio user for 6 years and have never experienced this problem when making Picture Slide show DVDs with various Menu styles. I am now trying to make DVDs from VHS VCR video clips that I have converted.

I am using Roxio Creator 2010 Special Edition Vers: 1.2.193 SP1, 5.0.0.0 - Build 121B93A, R05; 500B22A, R05.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Are there any solutions to this problem?

Is this a Software problem ?

File size is not important, it is the time length of the video that is important. A standard 4.7GB DVD will only hold 60 minutes of video at best quality. So, how long are your video clips.

 

What are your system specs, especially video card? There are some menu problems when using software mode with certain menus.

Looks like a software issue. I had the same problem and solved it this way:

1) Individually select each button and change the Button Selection method to: "highlight and extent". For buttons with text, also change the text highlight method to "outline".

2) Another helpful item: Select the menu background and click on the 'Scheme' selection in the settings menu. For the button-style you are using, the higher numbers make a darker highlight (0-15). Zero is invisible. I found 8-ish works well to adequately show the highlight and still show the background in case you are using thumbnail buttons.

 

Just got done burning and it worked perfectly!
