Best picture size and resolution

Quercus

Question

I edit all still pictures in Adobe Photoshop, then copy to Videowave where I add pan and zoom after which I burn a DVD. I know screen resolution is 72dpi and on a TV an image is 720x480 (give or take 4 hidden lines). I’m using a 10 mPix camera. Adobe reports the image size 59 x 39 inches, resolution 72 dpi, pixels 4272 x 2848 pixels. What size should a picture be when copied into Videowave? Do pictures need to be larger than 720 x 480 to allow for pan and zoom? Thanks, Martin.

Picture resolution is irrelevant since they all get converted to 720x480. Some users though have reported problems with resolution sizes you are stating.
