Jim_Hardin
OK, that would be great! Also include your Version & Build number for V2D. (Help-About) And a step-by-step of what you are doing up to the error message.
Angel2655
OK, that would be great! Also include your Version & Build number for V2D. (Help-About) (I dont know where to find the version and build number. It only says Roxio easy VHS to DVD) And a step-by-step of what you are doing up to the error message. My computer is as follows: Dell XPS 6301 Running Windows XP Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 3.00 GHz 3.25 GB ram E8400@300 GHz 4GB DDR2 SD Ram at 800 MHZ Sound AT1 functions driver for HD audio Legacy Video capture device Windows Media Player 10 Internet Explorer 8.0 Roxio Creator 10.2 Dell Edition Not sure what other info you need. Do I have to install something? I have installed the Easy Roxio VHS to DVD. The video imputs are a S-video cable and the white and red plugs in audio out in the VCR. the other is connected to the Video Capture USB which is connected to the computer. When I do the play and burn the capture video screen appears but the screen is black and the Capture now is gray and I am unable to hit it to capture the video. I did get sound once but no picture. I get an "unknown capture error". Is my computer lacking something??
Jim_Hardin
You left out the step-by-step While working that out, go through cdanteek's post and compare drivers with your system. They must match or it will never work! Also since you have XP, you can use the device and try to capture with Windows Movie Maker… (this will confirm the drivers)

Maybe I am missing a driver. I will try again and get back. They should not name the software Easy VHS to DVD. It is not easy.

Actually it is Easy, as far as Video software goes… Don't forget to do the other things I suggested too! This is not a pick and choose situation. This is not a pick and choose situation. I dont see the Roxio Video Capture USB drive listed in my programs. I only see the VHS to DVD. Maybe I should start over by deleting the program and reinstalling, making sure the Video Capture USB is securely placed in my computer. I was using a front USB slot, maybe I should try a back one. USB 2861 is not listed in my Universal Serial bus controllers.
Angel2655
I cant seem to get my VHS to DVD to work. I keep getting a unknown capture error. I need help. Has anyone else had this problem. Once again I am still seeking help. I donwloaded the VHS to DVD to my laptop computer. I inserted the Video Capture USB before installing. I am using a Vista program. My device manager under sound video lists both Roxio Video Capture USB and USB 2861 device but when downloading I did not see the screen for installing Video Capture USB, Roxio cineplayer decoder pack nor the Roxio activation module The wizard did say that it was successfully installed. I clicked on the VHS to DVD icon, put a DVD disk into the computer and clicked on video/movies. I then clicked on Plug and Burn. In the set production screen the Drive E:\TSSTcorpDVD+RW TS-L632Hd300 appears. Disk type is DVD . I hit next and the Capture Video screen appears. The capture devide says Roxio Video Capture USB (the only option). the input is S-video. (The S-Video is connected to the cature video USB and the VHS along with the red and white plugs connected to the device and the audio out in the VHS. When I turn on the VHS and hit play, I hear the sound but can not capture. It is grayed out. What am I missing.

cdanteek
Go look at my post near the bottom, find the Plug and Burn Screen and Roxio Media Import Screen.. Look closely does your screens match, Capture Setting, Capture device, and Input? Have you tried a different S-video cable or tried a yellow video composite cable? I would use Roxio Media Import over Plug and Burn... http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=49170 cd
