Creator Content CD

Jerry M

Question

Wondering if anyone is having issues regarding Roxio 2010 asking for the 'content CD' having installed Roxio 2010 from files downloaded from Roxio website.

For example, starting up Roxio 2010, clicking on the 'Photo' option, then clicking on 'Create Project'...it brings me to Create an album and to select a template. When clicking on any of the templates, it is asking for me to install the Content CD, which, of course, I do NOT have...

Thanks for any help.

Did you download the Contents files? There are 2 files to download and there are three files to download if you got C2010 Pro, I believe

If you downloaded the Contents file, did you install it?

Hello Jerry,

If you bought your Creator 2010 by download, you should have downloaded at least two files. One will be the program, the other should be RoxioCreator2010Content_HV13AXD0SQA.exe which is about 1 GB, and is the "Content".

If you didn't get the Content executable archive when you downloaded the program, you should go back quickly and get it. Downloads are limited in time and number, so be quick.

Also an aside, once you get these files down burn a copy and keep it somewhere safe since you can't guarantee getting another copy if something goes pear-shaped later on.

Yes, I did download and install both files. I contacted support, and they told me to redownload the content file again and install. However, it is now telling me I can't download because I have too many attempts. Not sure why I have to download it again, but I'll give it a shot once they correct this issue blocking me from downloading again.

I'm thinking it might just be best to do a clean uninstall, and start over....as much of a pain that is to do....

Thanks for the replies. I do appreciate it.

Hi Jerry,

Something which might help you while you wait for them to get things sorted with the other company - Digital River - which handles the downloading.

[1] My copy of RoxioCreator2010Content_HV13AXD0SQA.exe is exactly 1,098,510,336 bytes in size. If you right-click on yours and look at Properties you should see the exact size in bytes. If it's the same, then your download wasn't cut short.

[2] There's a very handy free utility called 7-Zip which is available for download here. If you install that, then right-click on your big .EXE file and select 7-Zip and Test Archive then 7-zip will check the Roxio content executable for errors. If you get a result like this [below] and the file is the right size, then there's nothing wrong with the download.

Brendon & Walt,

I went ahead and did a clean uninstall of Creator 2010, using Knowledgebase Aricle 000207CR for Windows 7.

After following every step to a 'T', I reinstalled Creator 2010 completely, includeing the SP1 update.

Everything is working as it should now.

Used both files from the original download.

Thank you both for your help....
