I am also having a similar problem - Vista;

Question

I am also having a similar problem - Vista;

I installed the program, via DVD, (vhs to dvd) and used it for a few weeks;

then, I started having some issues with other programs and uninstalled it;

Now..I installed it and it immediately comes up and says it is finished;

I went through the clean install routine - ugly, but it didnt help;

then, I saw on your forum that I needed to uninstall microsoft.net framework 3.5 SP1;

did that - re-installed and this time it just re-installed "microsoft.net framework 3.5 SP1"

The other programs are NOWHERE.

There has to be a bit set somewhere that tells the install program that it already installed;

Please help.

Is your version a recently new bought version, showing W-7 compatible logo?

Look closely at system requirements and your operating system and service packs...

Did you do the clean uninstall re-install procedure following #12 in my signature, to the 'T' not adding or subtracting anything?

cd

Thanks for your response.

--The box only says compatible with Windows Vista & Windows XP

--I have Vista 64 - all windows updates have been done; all service packs installed (SP2)

I allow automatic updates on this PC from microsoft and everything is current.

--I went back to verify that I had not missed anything and just started the procedure from scratch again to be sure.

I put the USB device in the port directly on the PC - it came up and said "found new hardware" just as expected, however, I did cancel and I didn't get a "driver software installation" screen at all.

I continued...inserted the disk - entered the key, etc.

I got several messages that flashed by that looked like it said it was uninstalling, then installing; the whole process took about 10 seconds and then the install complete message came up and I clicked finish.

I never got the message that says to restart my system or those other installation messages.

I checked my usb devices just for grins...

The Roxio USB device had an error - said that the driver was not installed.

The USB 2861 device was working properly.

I downloaded the current driver from the roxio web site and installed it.

Tried the DVD installation again - same result.

Baffling - since it was running fine and I uninstalled it because I thought it has a conflict with another program that I installed.

I really love this program...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kay
