I'm trying to export video from my editing software (Avid Xpress DV 4.6) and burn a DVD. Does anyone have the correct specs for exporting a Quicktime or AVI file to work with MyDVD? I need to know file type, size, codec, and field order.
I've been trying variations on the DV standard – 720x480, DV/DVCPRO NTSC codec, Quicktime or Quicktime reference movies. I get the same issues whether I encode in MyDVD or import it into Videowave and export an MPEG.
These are the problems I'm having:
Wrong aspect ratio – I'm seeing black bars at the top and bottom on the DVD
Wrong field order on the encoded file
My DVD crashes as soon as I try to add a file to a “DVD, no menu” project.

System specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2.21 Ghz
1 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 (128 MB RAM) – NVIDIA Driver 6.7.2.2
Win XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
152 GB Hard Drive (C:) / 223 GB media Drive (striped) - plenty of room on both
Quicktime version 6.5.2 (also tried using 7.0.4, but rolled back to 6.5.2 on advice from the Avid forum; didn't work.)
Thanks!
Nina
