Creating Chapters

Hello. I haven't used Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 in quite a while and I can't seem to link the chapter markers I created in Videowave in MyDVD. I remember that you click on the production button in Menus in MyDVD to activate the "edit chapters" and when I click on "edit Chapters" it opens up. I do have the "generate chapter menus and link to selected button" checked but when I close this edit chapter dialog, the chapters are not linking. I remember all the chapters line up under the production button What am I missing? Any help is appreciated. thanks

Did you also "convert the chapter markers" that you created in the Videowave timeline to chapter points in myDVD? When you open the Chapter Editor you shold then see a thumbnail for each chapter.

Once you have your Videowave project file in myDVD, select the production, then "edit Movie" and switch to the Timelin. You should now see the chapter markers that you created in Videowave on the timeline. Right click on the chapter marker and you should get a drop-down menu with options on what to do with the markers. You will have to convert each chapter marker one at a time. Once you are finished converting, click on "Back to Menu", then select the production and then click Edit Chapters. You will now have the Edit Chapters window showing the chapters you created.

Thank you very much. I don't recall that you needed to convert each marker in Roxio Media Creator 9. I guess it gives you more control. I did notice they made chapter 1 the default when you hit play. In version 9, I would sometimes forget to set it to chapter 1; consequently, people would be confused when it didn't play when you hit play when the chapters appeared.

Personally I never use chapter markers. If I want chapters I create them in myDVD.

I think that you are correct. I can't remember which version was the last version that you could convert them all at one time, before they mucked it up. If you were able to convert them all at once, in EMC 9, then that was probably the last version in which you could do it.

 

I hope that one of the other regulars here, who have had extensive use of chapters, will drop in and let us know.
