I downloaded the SP 2 for Easy VHS to DVD, unzipped it to the desktop, clicked on the .exe file and I get an error message saying that SP 2 can't find the program and to re-install it. I did so and still no joy. Any suggestions?

How about checking from the Home Screen, Help, About This Software..

Does it show SP2 in the version #?

No, it does not show any reference to SP 2.

There are 2 separate versions!

The XP & Vista version:

Version 1.1.124; 4.50.13a

Build: 111B24A, VHS; 450B14A, VHS

This one needs to have the SP2 to be up to date.

And then there is a Win7 version:

Version 1.2.198 SP1, 5.0.0.0

Build: 121B98A, VHS; 500B35A, VHS

This one has SP1 right out of the box and there is NO SP2 for this one to date!

Now that you know that, what version do you have?

On the box it says:

Minimum System Requirements Windows 7/Vista/XP, 1GHz processor and 521MB RAM

Looking at the About This Software it says:

Version 1.2.198;5.0.0.0

Build 121898A, VHS; 500B35A, VHS

So, I guess I have the so-called "Windows 7" version. That's likely why the SP 2 is saying it can't find the program. I wonder why the salesperson at the store didn't know this? Would have saved us a lot of frustration.

So, now I just have to figure out why the "normal quality" option isn't available as a selection for downloading and why the S-Video doesn't work. Thanks very much for clarifying all of this. It's much appreciated.

This has nothing to do with the salesperson… I really doubt he told you to run home and download SP2

You have another topic going about S-Video, so we will leave that there.

What are you referring to when you say "normal quality"?

I guess by "download" you really mean capture or possibly import???
