i need to change the bitsetting to dvd rom the mad tech support dont know how so i need some1 smart to please explain the website is out of date so please dont check the website guys its a wast please dont ask me why i need to change it to dvdrom i dont want to disrespect site please help me

Seems like it would be easier to buy a DVD-ROM drive.

 

I don't have the expertise to tell this user how to change a DVD RW to a DVD ROM drive, but they might try MadDog Technical support.

Read the Mad Dog manual. Is it capable of bitsetting? Not all burners are.

Your Mad Dog seems to be a Nec 4550. Nec drives are capable of bitsetting. That has to do with the firmware and a drive tool to accomplish it. Your Mad Dog firmware might not support it. I see no Bitsetting in 7.5, on my drive it don't matter I use Plextools and set it there. Any +R +R DL is changed to DVDRom.

Two options download Imgburn a ISO burn tool. Make your ISO in 7.5 and try a burn in Imgburn, open the bitsetting and choose Nec to +R to DVDRom and see if this burn program changes it. It will try with +R DL media but not sure on single layer disc's.

Other option cross flashing the Mad Dog to Nec or hacked bitsetting firmware. Go to cdfreaks, optical drive forum, and read in the Nec forum. Google your drive ID example (MD16X3DVD98X bitsetting) and you will get cdfreaks posts on the drive.
