Another LP recording problem

I have read all the posts here and cant seem to find what I need

 

I am trying to record an LP and I hear it coming through my laptop, however when I play it back it is like the person is 100 feet away and there is echo, yes I have checked volume levels, checked latest drivers, I have even downloaded another programme and the same thing happens, this probably suggests that it is not a roxio problem, but thought I would try in anycase.

 

I have

 

Windows 7

RealTek HD audio

capture from microphone realtek high definition

 

 

I have also tried capture audio from sound card, however same thing.

 

I have been working on this for 4 hours so far

 

any ideas??

 

after a few more hours have solved my problem

 

I had selected mic in instead of line in, so it was getting the sound from my webcam
