Buttons and Chapters

I recently got Creator 2010. I put together my first project. I added chapters and renamed all the buttons. Everything seems to work OK, but when I burn the DVD, I'm unable to chapter select. The highlight stays in one button? I was instructed to use some pictures and add chapters to this. It worked fine, but then I went back to the 1st project and nothing? What could be the issue? I'm thinking the video content might be to long. Any suggestions?

Strange indeed. Just to make sure, you have a main menu page with one button and then one or more submenus with the chapters. right? How did you make the chapters? How many?

I posted this before - It worked for me:

1) When editing menus, individually select each button and change the Button Selection method to: "highlight and extent". For buttons with text, also change the text highlight method to "outline".

2) Another helpful item: Select the menu background and click on the 'Scheme' selection in the settings menu. For the button-style you are using, the higher numbers make a darker highlight (0-15). Zero is invisible. I found 8-ish works well to adequately show the highlight and still show the background in case you are using thumbnail buttons.

 

Not sure why this happens - I am using Windows Vista. Have not tried on my XP computer to see if it's a bug with the Vista OS.

Before you panic, try playing that video on a different DVD player. Something cheap is better. Let us know how that works. Based on what you find, we can make more suggestions. You can get up to 2 hours on a single sided DVD at crap quality; up to 1 hours at best quality.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried on 3 different DVD players. The production plays just fine on its own, it just will not allow for chapter selection. The 1st button is the only one that stays highlighted, but the highlight is divided up to represent each button on that page. Kind of strange.
